Circus company performs for unsuspecting Reading Terminal Market customers [video]

Montreal-based urban circus company 7 Fingers delighted unsuspecting lunch goers at the Reading Terminal Market Wednesday afternoon with a sneak preview of their Fringe Festival Show, Sequence 8. The preview showcased the troupe’s cigar box juggling skills, but the full 70-minute show features aerial hoops, Chinese acrobatics and balancing tricks.

Performer Colin Davis said that the show is built on the relationship between performer and audience and the troupe members’ relationships with each other. The group aims to put circus on a “human scale, placing the extraordinary element of circus in ordinary contexts.”

Performances of Sequence 8 can be seen Thursday 9/20 through Sunday 9/23 at the Merriam Theater.
