Church founder statue gets shelter from storm with a little help from students

We’re not sure what Lutheran Church patriarch Henry Muhlenberg would think about the plastic ponchos his statue is currently sporting, but at least his likeness can avoid getting wet.

Students at the Lutheran seminary in Mt. Airy dressed the Muhlenberg statue up to protect him from the driving rains we’ve had all week. He and some of his followers are now equipped with colorful homemade ponchos, and Muhlenberg has the benefit of a red umbrella and. . . what is that in his left hand, anyway?

Editor’s note: Please note the correct use of Muhlenberg’s name.
