Christie to reconsider allowing NYPD to operate in N.J.

N.J. Gov. Chris Christie says he’ll take another look at whether to allow the NYPD to operate in the Garden State.

This comes after it was reported the police department has been monitoring Muslim groups around the Northeast.

NJ.com reports Christie said today he’s looking into the situation, but is not ready to make a decision. Executive orders signed by former N.J. Gov. Richard Codey give the NYPD legal grounds to operate in New Jersey.

The NYPD has been monitoring Muslim groups’ website and activities in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
