Chestnut Hill

Are you a history fanatic? Attend a ‘Speaker Night’ on the settlement of Chestnut Hill and Springfield Township.The lecture will be presented on at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at the First Presbyterian Church in Springfield, located at 1710 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown.

It is a joint program of the Chestnut Hill and Springfield Township Historical Societies. Presentations will include “Chestnut Hill and Springfield Township: 18th-century Land Development and Architecture,” by Jefferson M. Moak, Senior Archivist, National Archives & Records Administration; and “Millers and Mystics” by David Contosta, Professor of History, Chestnut Hill College.

The moderator will be Miles Orvell, professor of English and American Studies at Temple University. The event is free and reservations are not needed. For more information visit or call 215-247-0417.
