Chester County gets 39 last-minute commissioner applications

This is shaping up to be much more crowded than Philadelphia’s 8th District Council race. As of the Monday deadline, 39 people had submitted applications for the position of Chester County Commissioner. The Friday before, no one had applied.

Though six applicants have already been eliminated, as the Mercury reports, the rest could potentially be brought in for interviews to determine who will be on the November ballot.

The eliminated six were not registered Republicans, which is a requirement of the Third Class County Code.
