Charges dropped for woman hit by Philadelphia police officer

The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office intends to withdraw summary charges against 39-year-old Aida Guzman, the woman who was hit by a high-ranking member of the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to a release the D.A., she was originally charged with a summary offense for disorderly conduct on Sunday during a street party that followed the Puerto Rican Day Parade.

A YouTube video captured Sunday, that has since gone viral and been removed, shows Highway Patrol Lt. Jonathan Josey at a Puerto Rican Day street party knocking a retreating woman to the ground before handcuffing her and walking her away from the scene.

Commissioner Charles Ramsey says he is troubled by the video.
