Central Pa TV station nails Philadelphia rep on grubbing for per diem checks

Wow, this is local TV political reporting raised to an art form.

Watch this report from Dennis Owens of WHTM in Harrisburg, and you’ll see how well Northeast Philly State Rep. Mark Cohen is doing to maintain Philadelphia’s reputation as the land free-spending politicians who can’t be trusted with the public’s money.

The story about Cohen leading the league at claiming expense money from the legislature, a lot of it for days when they weren’t in session, including holidays and weekends.

Cohen didn’t comment to Owens, but when he’s been questioned on similar issues in the past, he’s said that he claims more expenses than others because he’s one of the hardest-working people in the capitol.
