Central Detectives to discuss Society Hill attacks

Update: Police have released the above video of the alleged attacker wanted in connection with a series of robberies. The suspect is also a litterbug.

Original report: In response to a series of attacks on women in Society Hill over the last month, Captain Sharon Seaborough of Philadelphia’s Central Detectives Division will provide more details this morning on the crimes.

Seven women have been attacked in the neighborhood since late June, according to an Inquirer report, the most recent one occurring Saturday night. In most cases, an attacker approaches a woman from behind on the street, chokes her and robs her of her belongings. Police patrols have been increased in the area.
