Celebrate warm weather with Easter egg hunts, cherry blossoms and more

    Give Kids Sight Day at Wills Eye Hospital 

    Saturday, April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Children under 18 are invited to attend the Wills Eye Hospital event for vision screening and comprehensive eye exams. Visionworks provides eye glasses and Willis Eye doctors are available for screening and consultant as needed. Wills Eye Hospital, Public Citizens for Children and Youth, Eagles Youth Partnership and Visionworks all sponsor this program to meet the needs of eye health in our community.

    Free fun Easter Egg Hunt with natural egg dying, crafts and games! Donations and reservations are encouraged. All ages are welcome but egg hunts are for kids under 10 years old. Children should bring their own baskets for the hunt. RVSP at programs@stenton.org or by calling 215-329-7312.

    Royal Rummage Sidewalk Sale, Clover Market, & Second Sunday in Chestnut Hill

    Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13

    Many wonderful shopping opportunities with kids’ activities as well. Chestnut Hill Rummage Sale is Saturday and Sunday. Clover Market will be held on Sunday – a collection of eclectic artists, food vendors and kids’ activities. Second Sunday is a monthly celebration with each local merchants and restaurants offering discounts.

    Cherry Blossom Festival at Morris Arboretum

    Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    100 E. Northwestern Ave. 

    Morris Arboretum hosts the first weekend of their two-weekend event welcoming the wonderful cherry blossoms. Saturday activities include a guided Cherry Walk, Kyo Kaiko Drummers (at 11 a.m.), Samurai Arts Group, Origami Workshops for Kids and a Japanese Elements Tours. Don’t miss this very popular tradition. Free with Arboretum admission.

    Easter Egg Hunt in Roxborough’s Gorgas Park

    Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to noon

    6300 Ridge Ave.

    Welcome the spring season with an Easter Egg hunt of 35,000 eggs! There will be a petting zoo, face painting, balloons animals, and photos with the Easter Bunny!
