Catch a free ride on National Carousel Day

Franklin Square Park, home to the city’s only outdoor carousel, is honoring National Carousel Day with a two-for-one special. Take a spin on the gorgeous carousel: Will you choose a ride on the magical eagle or to slay the dragon? While you’re at the park, check out the playground, test your putting skills at the Philly-themed mini golf or grab a bite to eat at Square Burger. Friday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There is such a thing as a free lunch in Manayunk

Celebrating their grand opening in style, Union Taco on Main Street will be handing out one free taco on Friday from noon to 2 p.m. Whether your plan is to take-out or dine-in, the newest taqueria on Main Street has lunch covered! 4229 Main Street.

Enjoy Final-ly Friday and a free outdoor movie in Mt. Airy

Final-ly Friday brings vendors, food trucks, and activities to the 7100 block of Germantown Ave. Kids can enjoy face-painting, mask-making or designing and sending postcards with complimentary postage. Ride the Magic Carpet at the Oval

Enjoy a game of life-sized backgammon, play in the hot pink sandboxes and take in the festive sites of 3D illusion art. The Oval (located directly across from the Philadelphia Museum of Art) is transformed and enriched by the bright decorations and fun food and activities. If it gets too hot, no worries, there are two fountains‚ just a penny’s throw away.
