Cargill recalls 36 million pounds of turkey

    Ground turkey production has been suspended at Cargill’s Springdale, Ark., plant, and 36 million pounds of the meat have been recalled after the CDC tracked down the source of a salmonella outbreak.Seventy-six people have gotten sick and one person has died across the nation. Five people in Pennsylvania have been sickened.

    Packages with the code Est. P-963 have been recalled.The recalled meat is still safe to eat if cooked at 165 degrees, but people should take caution with they handle the raw meat, taking care to wash their hands.
