Car hits Germantown’s Rose Petals Cafe

On Tuesday night around 11 p.m., a Chevy Impala hit Rose Petals Cafe on Chelten Avenue, causing damage to the restaurant’s facade and door.

The cafe and lounge was open for business on Wednesday, noting on Twitter that “Not even cars barreling into our exterior can stop us from serving great food to great people!”

According to surveillance footage shown to NewsWorks, a man left the bar and can be seen stumbling down Chelten Avenue. He then enters his car which was parked in Chelten Plaza. After sitting in his car for some time, he exits the plaza and drives diagonally across Chelten Avenue and onto the sidewalk, where the car hit Rose Petals.

Jania Daniels, co-owner of the Germantown business, said she is happy no one got hurt. She said the restaurant, which she runs with her husband, Desmin, is the couple’s “baby,” adding that she is disappointed in the lack of responsibility.
