Cape May County bridge reopens today after accident, repairs

Closed since Feb. 1, the Corsons Inlet Bridge in Cape May County reopened today somewhat unexpectedly. The Press of Atlantic City reports the bridge opened today as promised after an announcement the opening would be delayed until tomorrow.
The bridge was closed for repairs to the rails after a teenager lost control of her car and plunged into the river below. The teen was cited for wreckless driving, and a Cherry Hill company worked last week to repair the rails. The county will soon take bids to replace the old rails, which aren’t equipped to handle the weight of a vehicle.
