Camden Comic Con returns to Rutgers March 7

Camden Comic Con, an annual convention that celebrates the art and culture of comic books, returns to Rutgers University-Camden for a second time on Saturday, Mar. 7.

This year’s event will feature nearly 100 vendors and a host of special guest comic creators, artists and writers, such as Dave Bullock, Bryan Glass, Shawn Martinborough and Mark McKenna.

Get ready to geek out on a full day of workshops and forums. There will be demos and workshops on comic art, lettering and character design, as well as special effects make-up.

Panel discussions will cover web comics, game development, pitching your own comic series, independent publishing, plus a mini-symposium on gender in comics and fantasy.

The family-friendly affair also boasts drawing sessions and a simple book making workshop for younger fans.

Other activities include table top gaming (board games, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!), face painting and crafts. Philly alt-rockers Knuckle Puck Time and chiptune musician, Casshern (Daniel Park) will provide live entertainment.

Feel free to come attired as your favorite comic character and join the cosplay contest.
Admission is free and so is parking.

Saturday, Mar. 7, 10 a.m to 5 p.m. –  Rutgers University-Camden, Athletics and Fitness Center, 301 Linden St., Camden, N.J.
