Bucks County Playhouse without investors after bank rejects bid

After Stonebridge Bank rejected an offer to buy the Bucks County Playhouse, the theater faces demise once again. Investors are pulling out as the bank holds steady at its $2.795 million asking price.

The playhouse went to auction in December after more than 70 years in business.
PhillyBurbs reports on various offers to buy and restore the historic New Hope playhouse, but the small venue will require some serious rehabbing that’s keeping some investors at bay. County commissioner are considering bond options and help from the redevelopment authority to take on the project of keeping and restoring the playhouse.
