Arctic air will begin to fade tomorrow as warmer air surges northward to the Jersey Shore, forecasters say.
After temperatures in the single digits to below zero this morning, the thermometer will struggle to rise out of the 20s later today under a mixture of sun and clouds. But overnights lows won’t be as brutal as last night as temperatures will drop down to the lower 20s at the coast and teens inland.
By tomorrow, a warming trend will begin courtesy of a west-southwest flow, and skies will be mostly cloudy. High temperatures will rise into the lower to middle 40s, followed by lower 50s on Wednesday, middle 50s on Thursday, and finally upper 50s on Friday.
Rain is in the forecast for Tuesday night, giving way to mostly cloudy skies on Wednesday with another chance of rain during the day and at night. Skies will remain mostly cloudy on Thursday, partially clearing on Friday with another chance of showers.
The warmest day of the week will give way to temperatures falling back to the middle 40s on Saturday and lower 40s on Sunday.
Some wintry precipitation is possible on Saturday night for northern coastal areas as temperatures dip to the lower 30s but that’s far from certain this early in the week.
