A brush fire that broke out near Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson this afternoon is not impacting the theme park, a spokesperson said.

The fire started in a wooded area off Reed Road within the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area, growing to about 23 acres during the late afternoon, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.

An air tanker made two water drops over the fire, the service said in a release.

The area is behind the park’s Safari Off Road Adventure.
