Bridgeton’s public hearing on splash pad expected to draw comments about proposed location

Is an area within a war veterans park the place for a splash pad? We’ll find out after tonight’s meeting in Bridgeton.

City Council will take public comments tonight on the issue. Back in September, the city floated the issue of installing a splash pad for summertime use in the area of Veterans Memorial Park.

But the plan to clean up the area and charge a “nominal” admission fee isn’t exactly a home run, as the News of Cumberland County explains. While some want to see the park be put to better use, others say the veterans area is no place for a spot meant for goofing around.
