Borough mayor won’t run for mayor of consolidated Princeton

The ballot for the consolidated Princeton will be an interesting one as the borough and township prepare to merger, but one familiar face has bowed out of the mayoral run.

Borough Mayor Yina Moore won’t run for mayor of the consolidate Princeton, the Daily Prince reports, but she’ll instead go after a seat on the town council.
That leaves Township Deputy Mayor Liz Lempert and Borough Councilman Kevin Wilkes as the two Democratic mayoral candidates.

This report coincides with one from the Times of Trenton that says Princeton Township will delay hiring two police officers as it prepares for consolidation. The township has staff shortages that might resolve themselves once the merger is complete.
