Body found in Pa. creek; ID, cause of death sought

Authorities are trying to identify a body found in a Philadelphia creek over the weekend.

Officials said the male victim was found in Pennypack Creek in northeast Philadelphia shortly after noon Sunday.

The body was taken to the Philadelphia medical examiner’s office, which will try to identify the victim and determine a cause of death.

WCAU-TV reports that family members report that a 15-year-old youth went missing last week from his home in the area and may have frequented an area of Pennypack Park.
