Block grant provides school supplies for Camden and East Trenton students

    Students in Camden and East Trenton are outfitted with new backpacks and school supplies thanks to federal money handed out by the state.

    Through a Community Services Block Grant, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs distributed $12,500 for supplies for disadvantaged students.

    Camden’s Woodland Community Development Corporation received $10,000 to supply 422 students with backpacks, mechanical pencils, two one-subject notebooks, a pencil case, a 24-pack of Crayola crayons, Crayola color pencils, erasers, glue sticks, school glue and composition books.

    Trenton’s Cityworks received $2,500 to give backpacks to 125 students.
