Blatstein promises supermarket despite Pathmark’s plans to abandon new store

The months, nay, years-long plan to open a supermarket in Northern Liberties has stumbled. Maybe. As Pathmark owner A&P moves to scrap a deal that would have opened a second-story Pathmark at Second Street and Girard Avenue, developer Bart Blatstein doesn’t seem to fear the vacancy.
“Leave,” the Inquirer reports him saying about the decision by bankrupt A&P. Bartstein said other operators have been courting him, and he’ll have a supermarket in there by this summer.
