Billionaire could help save two Philly-area oil refineries

Interest from a New York billionaire could help save two of three Philadelphia-area oil refineries.

John Catsimatidis, who owns Warren, Pa.-based United Refining Co., could buy Sunoco’s Philadelphia refinery, according to reports by Bloomberg and the Delaware County Daily Times.

    C. Alan Walker, secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, delivered the news Monday.

At this point, it’s not clear which refineries would continue to operate, if any, and how many jobs are part of the potential plan.
