Big win: Temple earns first bowl victory in more than 30 years

Sometimes, good things just take time and for the Temple University football team, a very good thing happened Saturday for the first time in more than three decades.

On Saturday afternoon, Temple earned its first bowl game win since 1979 and the second in program history with a 37-15 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys in the Gidan New Mexico Bowl.

The Owls finish the 2011 campaign with a 9-4 overall record, capping the season with a four-game winning streak.

Temple’s last bowl game win came at the Garden State Bowl, as the team beat California, 28-17.
