Today marks the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary. All summer, we’ve been bringing you audio postcards from some of the men and women in uniform who represent national historical parks in our region.

We hear from Cindy MacLeod, the superintendent of the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. Morning Edition host Jennifer Lynn caught up with her for a walk around some of the park grounds along 3rd and Walnut Street. Jennifer got a history lesson after asking MacLeod about the difference between the great big national parks and national historical parks.
