Ben Franklin Bridge commutes easier for six weeks
Commuters who travel over the Ben Franklin Bridge by train or car can get used to easier trips for now.
Both means of transport have faced delays for months because of work on the PATCO Speedline tracks that run along the bridge connecting Philadelphia to Camden.
The work meant one of the two tracks was closed, making train commuters longer. Traffic lanes also had to be shut down to accommodate the work.
Starting Wednesday, both sets of tracks reopened on weekdays. There will be four Philadelphia-bound traffic lanes open during the morning rush-hour and four New Jersey-bound lanes open in the afternoons.
A single track will be open on weekends, though. And beginning Dec. 4, heavier work is scheduled to resume, again affecting some rush hours.
