Ocean City’s ‘Beauty on the Bay’ sold at absolute auction

The 7,000 square-foot, 21-room, green and mauve Victorian style mansion situated on Bay Shore Drive in Ocean City, N.J., has a new owner.

The house was assessed at $6 million, but the owners were looking to sell, and fast. Edward and Barbara Idzik put the house up for absolute auction over the weekend, taking bids of all sizes.

After 21 bids, the mansion was sold for $3,877,500. Though the winning bid was far less than what the Idziks were hoping for, it relieves the couple of the property they’ve been trying to unload for more than a year so they can move closer to their family.
