Bail papers for American hikers filed in Iran
The Associated Press reports bail arrangements are moving forward for the two American hikers convicted of spying in Iran.
Defense attorney Masoud Shafiei tells the Associated Press he is in court Saturday “following up the case” of hikers Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal.
Bauer and Fattal were detained along the Iran-Iraq border in July 2009 with their friend Sarah Shourd. Shourd was released last September on a $500,000 payment.
Shafiei tells the AP he hopes Iran’s judiciary will clear the way for payment of $1 million for the two to be released.
