Authorities identify body found in Delaware River

Dental records have confirmed that a body found in the Delaware River this week is that of a northern New Jersey man who went missing during a rafting trip last weekend.

The body of Gary West Jr. was found Tuesday afternoon in Frenchtown, more than 35 miles downriver from where he went missing. State police tell The Star-Ledger that the death has been ruled an accidental drowning.

The 38-year-old Summit resident vanished on June 29. Authorities have said West and his 14-year-old daughter were on a group trip when their rafts overturned in very rough water.
