Attempted robbery reported at Pizza Hut location in West Oak Lane [video]

Philadelphia Police released video on Thursday of an attempted robbery at a Pizza Hut location near Stenton Ave. and Washington Lane in West Oak Lane.

According to investigators, an unknown man in his early forties entered the store just after 10 p.m. Tuesday, “approached the counter with his hand inside his jacket pocket simulating he had a weapon … [and ordered] the employee who was standing behind the counter to ‘open the cash register and give me all the money.'”

When that employee alerted co-workers, the suspect ran off without getting any money from a Pizza Hut location that was also robbed in August.

The would-be robber is about 5-feet 7-inches tall with a medium build and goatee, said police, adding that he was wearing a black knit cap, tan hooded jacket, dark-colored pants, white sneakers and eyeglasses at the time.
