Atlantic City chef beats IHOP to the punch in ongoing feud

It’s like eating a cheesesteak in Montana. That’s how Atlantic City chef Carl Redding describes the chicken and waffles dish a nearby IHOP is serving up.

So the Redding’s Restaurant owner is giving away what he says is the real deal.

Redding claims IHOP is selling the dish he makes, but at a lesser quality. He spent yesterday afternoon in the parking lot next to IHOP giving away his chicken and waffles dish, the Press of Atlantic City reports.

Though Redding says other franchises, like McDonald’s, have recreated restaurant meals, he claims IHOP’s version of this dish doesn’t do the original justice. An IHOP spokesman wouldn’t take Redding’s bait, but said the chain is bringing the dish to a wider audience.
