Atlantic City casino revenue continues nearly three-year slump

A 6.5 percent revenue decline in July means Atlantic City casinos have almost three straight years of decline.

Numbers released today show the city’s 11 casinos took in $340.3 million last month, the Associated Press reports. Slot machine revenue fel 3 percent, and table games revenue dropped by 14.5 percent, making July the 35th month of decline. Last month’s revenue was down by only 3.7 percent, and would have better matched the June 2010 figure had one lucky gambler not won $8 million.
