Arts venues take it upon themselves to rally against budget cuts

Tom Corbett’s budget proposal shows little mercy toward schools, and health care is taking a hit, too. Some arts funding has been spared, but local venues aren’t taking any chances.

As WHYY’s Peter Crimmins reports, though the Pennsylvania Governor said he’ll spare the film tax credit, and cuts to the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts weren’t as drastic as they’ve been in the past, local venues are out to prove the economic draw of the culture industry by asking patrons to fill out petition cards at locations across the city.
