Philadelphia Police have released video of a Wednesday afternoon armed robbery at Zeng’s 99 Cent Store located at 7417 Stenton Ave. in Cedarbook. The incident marked the second robbery at the location since mid-July.

According to police, the alleged robber entered the store just before 2:30 p.m., pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded cash from the register.

He was given $200 before running off north on Stenton Avenue.

The suspect is described as a 185-pound man wearing a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white sneakers and a white cloth and sunglasses covering his face.

In the July 13 robbery at the same location, a robber reportedly acted as if he was shopping before producing a weapon and demanding money.

A police-department spokeswoman said that there is no indication that the robberies are connected.

Police ask anyone with information about the case, or suspects, to call Northwest Detective Division at (215) 686-3353/54 or the tipsline at (215) 686-TIPS, text a tip to PPD TIP (773847) or send it in via the department’s website.
