Armed robber hits Stenton Avenue dollar store [video]

Philadelphia Police have released video of a Wednesday afternoon armed robbery at Zeng’s 99 Cent Store located at 7417 Stenton Ave. in Cedarbook. The incident marked the second robbery at the location since mid-July.

According to police, the alleged robber entered the store just before 2:30 p.m., pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded cash from the register.

He was given $200 before running off north on Stenton Avenue.

The suspect is described as a 185-pound man wearing a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white sneakers and a white cloth and sunglasses covering his face.

In the July 13 robbery at the same location, a robber reportedly acted as if he was shopping before producing a weapon and demanding money.

A police-department spokeswoman said that there is no indication that the robberies are connected.
