Archdiocese explains delay to remove Lynn from duties

Why did it take eight days to remove Monsignor William Lynn from his duties at St. Joseph Church in Downington? He was out of town, of course.

Archdiocese of Philadelphia spokeswoman Donna Farrell told the West Chester Daily Local removing Lynn took so long because he was “away from the parish” following the indictment.

Cardinal Justin Rigali officially placed Lynn on leave last Friday after he was charged with allowing sexually abusive priests to maintain positions in which they interacted with children.
