Archdiocese confirms closure of third Delaware County school

As St. Kevin parishioners expected, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia revealed last night the Delaware County school will close.

Concerned parents from the Springfield school held a rally yesterday afternoon in anticipation of the announcement, which came just days after the decision to close St. Philomena in Lansdowne and Our Lady of Charity in Brookhaven.

The diocese has called the decision to close St. Kevin irreversible.

The Delaware County Times attended the meeting, which drew a standing room-only crowd to the cafeteria. You can read the statement from the diocese here.
