Another 70,000 left without power overnight in N.J.

Severe storms that moved through the area around 9 p.m. on Saturday are to blame for power outages across New Jersey. ABC6 reports that 70,000 residents in Ocean and Monmouth counties were left without power overnight.

According to “Central Power & Light’s website, more than 39,000 Monmouth County residents lost power and more than 25,000 residents in Ocean County lost electricity.”

About 14,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers in these two counties remained without power as of this report.

These outages come on the heels of last week’s storms when nearly 600,000 residents in seven counties were without power, reports the Press of Atlantic City.
