Andy Reid thankful for support after son’s death

Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid says his family is leaning on faith, family, friends and the Eagles’ family for support in the wake of his son Garrett’s death.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday for 29-year-old Garrett Reid, who was found dead Sunday morning in a dorm room at the Eagles’ Lehigh University training camp.

Andy Reid issued a statement through the team Monday evening thanking people for their support and saying his son had faced personal challenges — an indirect reference to his son’s history of drug addiction. The Eagles coach says Garrett “lost the battle” but will be remembered as a fighter, with a huge, loving heart.
