Andy Reid leads auction to help fund trooper’s bone marrow transplant

Andy Reid is keeping busy during the off-season and NFL lockout. The Eagles coach recently flew to Bushkill Township to help Pa. State Police Sgt. Jay Livziey.

Livziey is recovering in a Maryland hospital from a bone marrow transplant to treat his leukemia. Reid joined his family in the Poconos for a fundraiser to cover the transplant costs.

“Don’t be tight with your pockets,” Reid advised at the event. NBC10 went along for exclusive coverage as part of its Birds Nest blog, as Reid led an auction that included an Eagles helmet and football. About $30,000 was raised for Livziey.
