Airline employees compete to pull Eagles Airbus 15 feet

The Eagles Airbus is moving this morning, but it won’t leave the ground. At least, we hope not.

US Airways Employees are taking on their annual jet-pull challenge to move an aircraft with sheer human force. The event benefits the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania.

About 30 teams of 20 employee volunteers each will compete to pull the 50-ton Philadelphia Eagles Airbus A319 15 feet. Last year’s winners, the Domestic Speed Boys, clocked a record time of 5.57 seconds.

The sixth annual event kicks will wrap up around noon at PHL’s US Airways Hangar/Technical Facility.
