Air quality alert issued for New Jersey

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued an air quality alert today for the entire state. Ground-layer ozone levels are expected to be high.

Because of the heat, winds and humidity, ground-layer ozone levels could reach unhealthy ranges, putting the youth, elderly and those with respiratory diseases at risk.

If you’re among the high-risk group, avoid heavy activity this afternoon and evening.
