Abington commissioner resigns to fulfill farm dream

    Bringing new (and cheerier) meaning to “buying the farm,” Abington Commissioner Les Benzak announced his resignation yesterday.

    The Globe Times Chronicle reports Benzak is out as of May 25 after six and a half years on the board. What’ll he do next?

    He and wife Carol just bought a 13-acre farm in Perkiomen Valley. Something tells us Benzak’s work is just getting started.
