A mid-day shootout in Grays Ferry leaves one bystander dead

    A 45-year old mother of two was fatally shot when a gunfight broke out near her Grays Ferry home.

    Officials estimate about that two gunmen fired about 18 shots. The victim, Clarice Douglass, was caught in the crossfire and hit multiple times before running to her porch where she collapsed and later died.

    According to NBC10, the shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m., as children were just being released from school.

    One of the shooters was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and is reported to be in critical condition.
