Man spends 10 days in jail after flight delay

Here’s a story from the AP guaranteed to get a conversation going at the water cooler:

Utah gun owner Greg Revell spent 10 days in jail after a late flight stranded him in New Jersey.

The Supreme Court could decide today whether to hear an appeal from Revell, who wants to sue airport police.

They arrested him in Newark, N.J., after Revell told them that he had an unloaded but checked gun with his luggage.

Revell was flying from Salt Lake City to Allentown, Pa., and connecting in Newark.

Airport officials checked the gun and his luggage through to Allentown. But Revell’s flight was late, so he collected his luggage and stayed in a Newark hotel.

Airport police arrested him for illegal gun possession in New Jersey when he tried to check his gun in again to fly out.
