9-year-old shot in Trenton

    A 9-year-old girl was shot and wounded as she walked along a street in New Jersey’s capital city of Trenton.

    Trenton police say the shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m. Monday in the area of Bellevue Avenue and Marion Street. It’s not clear what sparked the shooting or how many shooters may have been involved, but authorities said the child was not the intended target.

     

    She was shot three times, police said, suffering leg and shoulder wounds. She was under treatment at a nearby hospital, Further details on her condition were not disclosed.
