77-year-old man appears to be Philadelphia’s first homicide of ’12

    It appears the death of a 77-year-old man marks Philadelphia’s first homicide of 2012.

    Philly.com reports the man died at a South Philadelphia home shortly after midnight on the 2500 block of Jessup Street. Few details have been released by investigators, but as of now, police say the man was stabbed.

    Philly.com is also reporting a second homicide that occurred shortly after 4 a.m. in a shooting incident at 8th and Callowhill Streets. Police say that incident may have been connected to an incident that started on North 2nd Street.
