$500 reward for the return of Civil War statue head in Bridgeton

The reward is now up to $500 for the return of the head of Bridgeton’s Civil War monument.

The statue in Bridgeton City Park remains headless, the News of Cumberland County reports, after Police Chief Mark Ott pledged the first $100 reward from his own pocket when he was alerted Tuesday of the crime.
Erected in 1915, the statue commemorates the war and those who fought in it. The head is worth about $3,000.

Anyone with information is asked to alert the police at (856) 451-0033, or the Crimestoppers Association at (856) 364-6500.
