42 municipalities to discuss proposed animal control contract in Delaware County

    Officials with more than 40 area municipalities in Delaware County were planning to meet today with the Animal Protection Board to discuss a proposed animal control project.

    The Daily Times reports the meeting includes officials of 42 municipalities to discuss the proposal, which would include committing to a three-year, $250 per-stray-animal control fee. According to the Daily Times, the board chairman has said the board and the animal control facility would be in jeopardy of folding without the support of at least 40 municipalities.

    The meeting was scheduled to take place in the Academic Building of Delaware County Community College. The meeting was open to the public.
