39th District Dec. 10 to Dec. 16

This district covers lower West Germantown and East Falls as well as parts of Nicetown and Tioga.

300 block W. School House Ln. 2007 Chevy Impala stolen. Complainant said he left the key in the ignition and ran inside for about 3 minutes. When he returned, the car was gone.

3500 block Fox St. – 1992 Toyota Celica stolen. Complainant said his car broke down on the Roosevelt Expressway around 1 a.m. Dec. 10.  When he returned the next morning, the car was gone.

400 block Manheim St. – several tools, a garden hose, two mirrors and a clock were stolen from the property between 10:58 a.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 10.  Complainant said his neighbors and maintenance employees have access to his garage.

3000 block W. Queen Ln. washing machine top and attached coin box were stolen from an apartment complex washing room.

4300 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said someone shot at him while he was sitting in a rental car. He wasn’t injured, but was later taken to the Northwest Detectives Division to be interviewed.

 

Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010

200 block W. Queen Ln. – complainant said that an acquaintance struck him in the head with his metal walking cane during a fight. Complainant was severely wounded above his left eye, but refused medical treatment or a trip to the Northwest Detectives Division.

4800 block Wayne Ave. – complainant said a bar employee sprayed mace in his eyes for no reason. The owner apologized to the complainant.

4200 block N. Sydenham St. complainant said a man and a woman robbed her at gunpoint on her way home. The offenders took various IDs and a transpass and fled the scene.

1500 block W. Westmoreland St. handgun, safe, DVD player, VHS player, cell phone and a 52” Sony projection TV were stolen from the property. Complainant said he told his neighbor earlier that day that he was heading to the casino at around 9:30 p.m. Dec.11 and wouldn’t return until the next day.

3200 block N. 17th St. – complainant said a fellow resident at his group home attacked him with a fire extinguisher after he found him spraying it in one of the rooms there. Offender was arrested. Complainant was taken to the hospital.

 

Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010

3200 block N. Carlisle St. – three digital receivers stolen from a truck.

4400 block Wayne Ave. – Bose audio speakers, Xbox gaming system, Sony DVD player and three North Face coats were stolen from a storage unit. Storage facility employees did not report any forcible entry into the unit.

4500 block Germantown Ave. – complainant said two men with handguns forced him out his car, knocked him unconscious with an unknown object and stole $450 from his pocket. Complainant was taken to the hospital and treated for a laceration above his left eye and internal head bleeding.

2800 block N. 20th St. four watches, four pearl necklaces and a gold bracelet stolen from the property. Complainant said she locked up around 8:30 a.m. Dec. 12, but found the front and back door forced open when she returned around 2 p.m. the same day.

2400 block Toronto St. – complainant said someone pulled up alongside him while he was walking and robbed him at gunpoint. The offender stole a cell phone and drove off.

 

Monday, Dec. 13, 2010

300 block W. Seymour St. – three flat screen TVs,  a DVD player, three leather pocketbooks and a laptop computer were stolen from the property.  Complainant said someone threw a rock through the first floor window and entered through the rear kitchen door at approx. 8 a.m. Dec. 13.

4400 block N. 15th St. – two lead glass windows stolen from the property. Complainant said she locked up at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 and found the front door pried open when she returned the following afternoon.

2200 block Cambria St. – drop box safe, ATM safe and a DVR security recorder were stolen from a chain store between 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12 and 6:45 a.m. Dec. 13. General Manager said the rear door was pried open, the security camera footage was missing and the phone lines were cut.

2700 block Allegheny Ave. – complainant said his girlfriend hit him several times in the ribs with a baseball bat during a fight.

2100 block W. Lippincott St. four metal work tables, copper wire and several metal conductors were stolen from the rooftop of the vacant warehouse. Supervisor said he last saw the equipment 8 a.m. Nov. 15, but found them missing around 9 a.m. Dec. 13.

1700 block Butler St. –  complainant said someone struck him in the face several times while someone else rifled through his pockets and stole his Blackberry phone, a pack of cigarettes, $20, a transpass and an umbrella.

1600 block W. Allegheny Ave. – complainant said her boyfriend tore off her clothes, bound her ankles together with a phone cord and raped her. Complainant said the boyfriend had accused her of cheating on him just prior to the incident.

 

Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010

3300 block Wiehle St. various copper pipes and fittings were stolen from the property. Complainant said he saw two men leave his garage with the items and drive off in a white Ford truck.

4000 block Ridge Ave. – complainant said three men rushed up behind him while he was opening his front door, forced him inside, beat him and stole $300. The offenders were carrying guns.

3600 block N. 15th St. – golf clubs and assorted tools were stolen from a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country.

 

Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010

1600 block W. Glenwood Ave. complainant said her boyfriend punched her in the head after an argument and fled with $300 in stolen cash.

4300 block Kelly Dr. – complainant said a fellow student at Delaware Valley High School punched her in the face several times while she was sitting at her desk.  The offender was arrested and taken to the Northwest Detectives Division.

4100 block N. Broad St. complainant said someone stole copper and stainless steel from his outdoor electric heating and cooling unit.

2200 block W. Lehigh Ave. –  complainant said two acquaintances stole the black police bike he parked outside the location.

 

Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010

4600 block Fernhill Rd. – Wii game system, Playstation game system and a lock box containing personal paperwork were stolen from the property between 8:20 and 11:45 a.m. Dec. 15.

4200 block Henry Ave. – Panasonic projector stolen from a classroom at Philadelphia University between 6 p.m. Dec. 6 and 11 a.m. Dec. 10. The room was open to students during most of that time.

3500 block N. Smedley St. – 2008 Chevy Impala stolen between 4 and 9:30 p.m. Dec.15. Complainant said he had stopped to get his car washed.

2900 block N. 23rd St. copper pipes were stolen from the property between 8 a.m and 12 p.m. Dec. 5.

3100 block N. Bambrey St. – rifle, five gold watches and five gold chains stolen from the property between 8 a.m. Dec. 7 and 12 p.m. Dec. 15. Complainant said he was in Las Vegas on vacation and returned to find his front door frame broken and the items missing.
