You CAN get something for free from the city of Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Parking Authority is giving its own little gift for holiday shoppers.

Parking will be free at meters and kiosks in Philadelphia every Saturday until the end of the year, from 11 a.m. on.

Parking Authority Executive Director Vince Fenerty says they have a present for those who want to shop in the city.

Fenerty says discounted, eight dollar parking will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at six of the authority’s enclosed garages.

“In Olde City, that would be Second and Samson, Independence Mall at fifth and Market, Gallery at 8th and Filbert, our garage at Philadelphia’s Gallery at 10th and Filbert by Jefferson Hospital at 10th and Ludlow and our garage in Center City Philadelphia across from City Hall.”

Fenerty says the goal is to encourage shoppers to give city merchants a try.
